Gameroo is the brainchild of serial entrepreneur Ben Hardyment, veteran of the UKs first online DVD rental website, and re-commerce giant Zapper, which achieved a series record offer of £250,000 in investment from Theo Paphitis on BBC Dragons’ Den back in 2010.
Ben Hardyment - CEO
Ben is a seasoned entrepreneur whose startup journey began back in 2003 when he launched Webflix, the UKs first online DVD Rental business, eventually sold to LoveFilm in 2006.
Patrick Neill - COO
Patrick and Ben worked together at Zapper.co.uk, and teamed up for Gameroo, to do what their previous business never could, to become a world-being gaming marketplace.
Ben started out life as a total computer and gaming obsessive, and was one of the first staff writers on “What Micro” magazine way back in 1982 aged just 12 years old followed by a Sunday residency on London’s Capital Radio giving the latest weekly gaming news.
Ben’s obsession with digital media businesses and online gaming led him and his co-founder Patrick to spot a gap in the global market – a peer-to-peer marketplace, specifically for gaming, where buyers and sellers can trade cons ole and retro games with each other with minimal effort, reasonable fees and 100% guarantees on all transactions.
We tested the market with our MVP apps back in 2020, and on the back of this closed a successful Crowdcube crowdfund!
With the backing of over 270 investors, we have completely redeveloped and relaunched Gameroo 2.0 with a massively expanded range of products and deep, rich database of over 500,000 games, Metacritic reviews, twitch streams, youtube videos and individual market valuations.
